Located in Rural Northamptonshire, on the main A43, midway between Northampton
and Kettering, just 15 minutes from M1 (junctions 15,15a or 16) and ten
minutes from Junction 8 of the A14.
Ben Muttock and his wife, Nan took over the running of the club in 1976. Their vision was to expand the club, and to invest in new facilities for both members and visiting shooters from around the region.
Today, Northampton Shooting Ground is still a family run concern, retaining the original values of a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, together with professional and efficient organisation and excellent facilities.
A 12-stand Sporting layout features a wide variety of interesting and challenging targets, and includes 3 high towers, the tallest of which is 100 feet. The entire facility features top of the range automatic traps and acoustic releases, which ensures that targets are both accurate and consistent. Every layout is certified by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association as conforming to regulation standards.
In addition to shooting facilities the shooting ground has a large, heated clubhouse capable of seating 70 people. Together with a fully licensed bar, hot and cold snacks and beverages are also available. More extensive catering services are available for corporate clients, if required. There is a hard-standing car park capable of accommodating in excess of 120 cars. All facilities are accessible to wheelchair users. A variety of cartridges are available for purchase.
